My College Answers
Strategic Planning for College Admissions & Aid

October 8, 2002

Lori asked me if I would be willing to recommend her services to other parents.  Well the
answer is yes, and I'd like to tell you why.

Like many of you, I have always wanted to help my kids get to college and have the chance to
find their own dream and go for it.  For a long time, I thought we had it made as everything was
on track and looking good.  Then, with the first initial looks at colleges when our oldest child
hit her Junior year, came the shocking reality - this was going to be way more costly than I had
ever thought.  We started to do it ourselves, but time and lack of knowledge were a hindrance.

With the start of our daughter's Senior year, panic set in.  How were we ever going to manage
this?  How could we even figure out which schools to look at?  There are lots of good schools,
but we had no realistic plan for matching my daughter's desires with what was there.  Then
we got our first look at the FAFSA form.  It made filing income tax forms look easy somehow!
We made the decision that we needed help.  It was with some fear that we chose to work with
Lori.

The results have been grand.  We never felt shunted out of the decision making process, and
Lori was really supportive of our daughter's desires while remaining attuned to our reality.
With her help, the FAFSA got filed on time and went through without a hitch the first time.  The
glut of schools had been narrowed based on degree/career desire and size and style
requirements, so we could concentrate on learning more about just the few instead of feeling
lost in the mass of schools.  Lori and her staff were always quick to answer questions, even
ones left on the answering machine over the weekend.  With their help, the excitement
returned to taking this step of sending our first off into the world, and the panic was gone.

Our daughter was accepted to all three schools she applied to.  Now came the need for the
best financial deal we could get.  While we waited for financial packages, we paid the tuition
deposit at the two front-runners.  In the end, the deal from one school was far better, and the
choice was made.  Was Lori done?  No.  The other school to whom a deposit had been sent
had a hard time accepting our decision to go elsewhere.  It was Lori who got back that
$200.00 deposit for us.

Could we have done it on our own?  Eventually I think we would have gotten the FAFSA form
done and accepted - but I think it would have cost us the financial package that we received.
Some of that package was awarded in January, as soon as the school got the completed
FAFSA forms!  I believe in the end, we would have ended up paying for most of the cost of
school ourselves, and that would have been an impossible burden that could have kept our
daughter from going at all.

We look forward to working with Lori for the next several years and know she will help us
continue to look for additional funding for our daughter and, in just two short years, to get the
best deal for our son as well.  Lori's hard work has made a big difference for us.

My name is Jennifer Stucki and I am a student at Idaho State University.  Like many other
college students today, I needed to obtain financial aid in order to attend classes.  For two
years I was unsuccessful in obtaining sufficient assistance; as I was unsure of how to go
about the application process.  Unfortunately, I didn't get the money I could have due to my
inexperience and lack of knowledge on that subject.  When hopes of continuing my education
were getting dim, the CPA firm I work for referred me to Lori Warren saying, "If anyone can help
you, she can."  I took that advice last fall and was very impressed with Lori.  She was
knowledgeable, professional, precise and punctual (she gets all of your papers in
ACCURATELY and ON TIME!)....resulting in an astounding increase in my financial aid.  I
would say that she is an expert in her field and I now recommend her to anyone who is
seeking help for any college financial aid, career counseling or needs (to be) motivated to get
the process done correctly the first time.  Coming from a college student, I give Lori an A+

To Whom it may concern,

We have used the services of Lori Warren this past few months to help us and our daughter
prepare for college.  We are very appreciative of the help we have received.  There are a lot of
little things that you need to know to get the best financial package you can for your student.
We learned so much from Lori and her staff.  We have always been treated kindly and felt that
their desire to help was sincere.  The peace of mind we have now is immeasurable.
Whenever anything strange or confusing arrived in the mail it was nice to know there was
someone we could turn to for help.  We are very pleased with the package we were able to get
for our daughter from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.  We know without a doubt that we
would not have done as well on our own.  We are planning on continuing with Lori throughout
our daughter's college career.  We strongly recommend her to everyone that will have children
entering college in the future.  Please do not wait to use her services until your student is a
Senior, start early with Lori and her staff and you will have the peace of mind that we have -
only sooner.

I would recommend Lori Warren and her staff to any parent wondering, "How in the world are
we going to pay for college and where do we start?"

Lori has been absolutely invaluable in answering my questions and putting my mind at ease.
She has taken, what was to me a mind-boggling, enormous task and, because of her
familiarity with the process, broken it down into easy steps.  She knows which situations are
typical and which need extra attention.  I felt like I had a knowledgeable partner during the
entire college process.

Because of our positive experience with Lori, I would, in a heartbeat, recommend her to
parents and students who are looking for solid advice given sincerely from a wealth of
experience.

Lori, I just wanted to send you a thank you for helping my sister in New York.  I spoke with her
yesterday and she is just thrilled with the help that you've providing to her with regards to her
daughter attending college in Arizona!  She was really impressed that you were contacting her
from your hospital bed in Salt Lake City.  You provide a marvelous service and I will continue to
send my friends and family to you.  I hope you're recuperating nicely.  Thanks for all the help
you've provided my family - and now my sister!
